1. Body Content:

Search engines love content- the more content and more pages your website has, the better. Websites that have little content or few pages, will find it harder to climb to the top pages of Google.

Web designers need to make sure that the website content is unique and not duplicate or spun. Google loves unique content and hates spun content.

Search Engine systems have become more advanced these days and their search spiders can now determine when content has been spun.

Important keywords need to be integrated into your content but must be done naturally. Keyword spamming is not recommended as Google ignores these websites, plus it looks highly unprofessional.

 

2. Meta Information:

 

These are the three types of Meta Information that need to be correctly displayed:

 

Meta Title

The Meta Title is the most important Meta Information. Your company name, primary keyword and business location should always be stated here. You only have 60 characters to work with( including spaces) as once you exceed this limit, the rest of your words will be cut off.

 

Meta Description

The Meta Description is the second most important Meta Information. Your secondary keywords need to be included into your description. You only have 160 characters to work with (including spaces) and if you pass this limit, the rest of your words will be cut off.

 

Meta Keywords

The Meta Keywords is the least important Meta Information. The Meta Keywords would inform search engines what primary keywords their website would like to rank for. Now, this Meta Information is becoming redundant as most search engines ignore this tag altogether.

 

3. Media:

Search engine spiders love website that provide lots of media. Adding lots of images and videos to your website can make all the difference in your rankings. It makes your website look professional as well as attractive.

Social media has also become a significant part of search engine optimization as receiving real “Likes” and “Tweets” from Facebook and Twitter indicates that people are showing interest in your services and products. It is important you add social media icons to your website and keep those pages regularly updated.
